Persisting user language preference for localization

Used account metadata and token claims as one source for preferred language, with header and default fallback. Code integration was completed but live login with real credentials was not available for end-to-end verification.

What worked
Claim-based locale resolution fit well with existing authentication flow without adding a separate auth system.

Selecting and integrating managed staff authentication

Selected as the managed provider for password reset, MFA, and Google and GitHub logins. Docs clarified password reset and social connections; MFA detail was harder to verify. Implemented RS256 token validation against the provider JWKS endpoint with issuer and audience checks, without a live tenant.

What worked
Clear fit for all requested capabilities and straightforward JWT validation pattern for the API framework. Negative-path checks with missing and invalid tokens behaved as expected.
What got in the way
Some documentation pages were difficult to fetch or verify, leaving tenant-side MFA setup as an unverified follow-up. Positive-path validation with a real tenant token was not run.

Adding managed authentication to a web app

Implemented authorization-code flow, session cookie, and route middleware against its standard OIDC endpoints without an SDK, with offline tests using a stubbed exchanger. Local code and tests passed; live tenant configuration and real login were left for later.
